DS Group to set up 2nd rubber unit in Tripura

Investors in the rubber sector are reposing faith in Tripura. Abhisar Buildwell Pvt. Ltd. (ABPL), which is a subsidiary of Dharampal Satyapal Group (DS Group), is putting up a second unit in Tripura. The unit will come up in the Rubber Park at Bodhjungnagar industrial Area.

Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) has allocated 17 acres to the company for the new unit.

Tripura, which is the second largest rubber producer after Kerala, is seeing development in the processing sector. A company source told ET : “The investment plan for the unit will produce rubber products. However, we are working out the details.”
APBL had set up its first unit in Agartala in 2006. The group has invested around Rs. 80 crore in the unit.
The unit has a total installed capacity of 5,000 million tones (mt) per annum.
