SIC slaps penalty of Rs 5,000 on PIO

Chandigarh: Punjab State Information Commission(SIC) during the hearing of a case has imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the PIO Cum District Transport Officer (DTO) Jalandhar for not providing information to the applicant under RTI Act. A spokesperson said that an applicant Joginder Singh, a resident of village Alampur PO Lodhi Majra, district Roopnagar sought an information from the PIO. The respondent PIO didn’t provide the information and an appeal was filed in SIC. During the hearing of the case the respondent has failed to come up with any reasonable explanation for not providing information to the applicant under RTI Act.

HP CM dedicates new complex of DDU Hospital

Shimla: Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has dedicated the new complex of Deen Dayal Upadhayay Hospital, Shimla to the people of the State constructed with an outlay of Rs 35 crore. The new seven storied centrally heated complex will have all basic amenities including parking, chemist shops, blood banks, besides MRI and CT Scan facilities etc. The bed capacity will now increase to 300 which includes 135 beds in the new complex. Besides, the two floor parking will be of great help to the attendants of the patients visiting the hospital. The Chief Minister also laid foundation stone of Directorate of Health and Family Welfare at Parimahal in Kasumpti to cost Rs 14.11 crore.

Haryana Gau Seva Ayog’s website launched

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has launched the website of Haryana Gau Seva Ayog www.hargauseva.gov.in to make available all information pertaining to the Ayog at the click of a button. The Chief Minister said that the website would allow the people to view the aims, objectives, functions and activities of the Ayog, as well as the list of all Gaushalas in the state and grants released to them year-wise. Chairman of the Ayog, Bhani Ram Mangla said that 425 Gaushalas were functioning in the State. The website would also have information pertaining to assets of the Ayog, facilities being provided in the Gaushalas, Acts and other notifications. Facility of extending donation to the Gaushalas would also be added on the website in the next phase, he added.

Expanding Pulse portfolio, the company launched Guava and Orange flavors in 2016. The company has also decided to extend the brand experience of Pulse, in the beverage category by launching Pulse Mango with tangy twist; Pulse mango, Masala Maar ke. Pulse Mango is a Mango drink with a tangy twist to it. Shashank Surana, VP, New Product Development, DS Group said, “in the candy segment, Pulse has raced to the top three in just two years, competing with the established brands in the market. We have made a mark in the Hard Boiled Candy segment (HBC) and are confident of a good performance in the beverage arena as well.”

Timber market on NH 73 shifted

Chandigarh: Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB), with the assistance of district administration, has shifted the Timber Market on Yamunanagar-Saharanpur National Highway 73 in Yamunanagar to village Mandoli in the district. A spokesman said that this would help in decongesting the main town and prevent traffic jams. Earlier, the business of timber market, including sale and purchase of poplar and other varieties of wood, was being operated from the shops situated along the NH. The vehicles, mainly tractor-trailers, carrying poplar and other wood caused inconvenience to the commuters due to traffic jams. The new timber market had been developed over more than 11 acres at a cost of Rs 5 crore in village Mandoli to facilitate the farmers as well as timber agents and traders.

Recruitment rallies for IAF on May 5 & 7

Chandigarh: The Indian Air Force (IAF) would hold recruitment rallies on May 5 and May 7 at Rajasansi Air Force Station for recruitment in Group ‘Y’ trade for the unmarried male candidates belonging to Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Ferozepur, Muktsar, Moga, Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar and Faridkot districts. The physical fitness and written tests for candidates from Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Ferozepur, Muktsar, Moga would be held on May 5 while adaptability test (I and II) for candidates passing written tests would be held on May 6. The candidates should be born between July 7, 1997 to December 20, 2000 (both days inclusive), said a spokesperson adding that the candidates passed intermediate / 10+2 / equivalent examination in any stream / subjects approved by central / state education boards, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

Vijay V Murar is new Zonal Manager of CBI

Chandigarh: Vijay Vasant Murar has joined as Zonal Manager of Central Bank of India (CBI) Chandigarh, on his transfer to Chandigarh from Vijaywada. ShriIshwar Singh, Field General Manager has been transferred to Delhi Zone. Chandigarh Zone consists of Punjab, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Union Territory of Chandigarh. Murar joined Central Bank in 1982. Earlier he was working as Senior Regional Manager of Vijaywada Region.

Fund raiser event for special children held

Chandigarh: ‘Empower Diva Pageant’ , a fund raiser event for special children was held at Hotel Hyatt here. The event was organized by city based NGO , Empower- Joy which works for special children betterment. During occasion, around dozen special children walked the ramp along with models and celebrities besides taking part in other fun filled activities. We have organized ‘Empower Diva Pageant’ as a fundraiser for our planning to build country’s first of its kind integrated school with normal and special children on a 3-acres of land donated to us at Aerocity, asserted Empower co-founders, Bharati Kapoor and Sharmita Bhinder.
